THE TEAM

Dr. Chandra Lebenhagen | Director

Dr. Chandra is the founder and Executive Director of Including Autism. She holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Learning from the University of Calgary and brings over 20 years of experience as a teacher, inclusion consultant, and university instructor in K–12 and postsecondary settings. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, including the book Autism and Inclusive Education: A Guide for Teachers, Practitioners and Parents. She specializes in supporting neurodiverse children in “real-world” classrooms through a multidisciplinary lens that draws on critical disability theory, learning theory, and evidence-based practices.

Through engaging presentations and hands-on support, Dr. Chandra equips educators, caregivers, and communities with the knowledge and tools to create meaningful, inclusive learning environments where educators and students thrive.

Nigella | Clinical Exercise Physiology

Nigella is a Clinical Exercise Physiology (CEP) student in her final year of study, passionate about supporting neurodivergent youth and adults through meaningful movement, including:


  • Personalized exercise programs designed to support:
    • Gross and fine motor skills
    • Core strength and postural stability
    • Proprioceptive feedback and body awareness
    • Sensory regulation through movement
  • Coordination and balance training using fun, functional activities
  • Programs to reduce anxiety through structured, rhythmic, and calming physical activities
  • Support for emotional regulation using exercise as a tool for self-soothing and focus
  • Education for families and caregivers on incorporating movement at home
  • Safe gym environments or mobile/home-based support for comfort and accessibility
  • Goal setting and self-monitoring tools to promote independence and motivation
